  • Incident response and IT forensics: Should an attack take place (e.g. a phishing or DoS attack, both of which lead to the most common types of cyberattacks If an attack is carried out on a computer system (e.g. a computer virus), then it is the information security analyst who tries to fend off these attacks and then restore the integrity of the systems. Forensics, i.e. the search for evidence and the collection of evidence after an attack, also falls under the remit of an information security analyst. The aim is to better defend against future attacks.
