The Scrum Master - tasks, career and salary

The Scrum Master is the leader of the Scrum team. He has the primary task of adhering to the Scrum principles. He is often confused with a product manager, but focuses more on the dynamics of his team and how the Scrum principles are implemented. We provide experienced Scrum Masters for remote teams as well as for permanent employment.

Tasks of a Scrum Master

The Scrum Master is the coach of his team. He has a keen eye for the framework and the principles and processes in Scrum. He is the motivator of his team, helps them to work better and ensures a working environment in which they can be maximally productive free from external disruptions.

  • Moderation of Scrum meetings
  • Removal of obstacles
  • Coaching
  • Promoting dynamics within the team
  • Interface
  • Protecting his team
  • Monitoring of activities
  • Reporting

Every day, the Scrum team holds short, focused meetings to keep everyone up to date and monitor progress. Obstacles are quickly identified. Once the obstacles are identified, it is the Scrum Master's job to remove them as quickly as possible. There can be various things that prevent his team from working quickly and sustainably.

Another task is coaching in the application of Scrum principles and practices. He helps each of his team members to carry out their role in the team effectively and to help improve processes. The Scrum Master relies on a strong team that works in a self-organized way. He therefore supports his team through open communication and places a strong focus on collaboration and team spirit. He communicates externally with the Product Owner. He also has regular contact with stakeholders. He protects his team from external disruptions, because his team must be productive and focused. He monitors the performance and progress of his team.
